==Baulked landing== A baulked landing or rejected landing is an unofficial term that usually refer to a very late go-around, initiated when the aircraft is below the prescribed Decision Height or Minimum Descent Altitude or even when the aircraft has touched down. A baulked landing is considered a high risk go-around as the aircraft is typically in a low energy state with low altitude, idle thrust and decelerating airspeed. Additionally, as the aircraft is below the prescribed Decision Height or Minimum Descent Altitude, there is a greater risk of collisions with obstacles and terrain even when following the established missed approach procedure, which may result in [[Controlled flight into terrain|Controlled Flight Into Terrain]] (CFIT).<ref>{{cite web |url=https://skybrary.aero/articles/baulked-landing-guidance-flight-crew |website=Skybrary |access-date=27 April 2024 |title=Baulked Landing: Guidance for Flight Crew}}</ref><ref>{{cite web |last1=Slutsken |first1=Howard |title=When your plane touches down but doesnโt land |url=https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/airplanes-balked-landings/index.html |website=CNN |access-date=27 April 2024}}</ref><ref>{{cite web |last1=Albright |first1=James |title=Balked Landings, Part 1 |url=https://aviationweek.com/business-aviation/flight-deck/balked-landings-part-1 |website=Aviation Week |access-date=27 April 2024}}</ref>
