===Member of Parliament=== While still serving as an alderman, he became the New Democratic Party's candidate in the [[1984 Canadian federal election]] for the [[Electoral district (Canada)|riding]] of [[Windsor—Walkerville (federal electoral district)|Windsor—Walkerville]].
