====Vocative==== The vocative case ({{lang|ga|an tuiseal gairmeach}}) is used in direct address, and is always preceded by the [[grammatical particle|particle]] {{lang|ga|a}}, which triggers [[Irish initial mutations|lenition]] (the vocative particle is not pronounced before a [[vowel]] sound).
