==Governance== An [[exclave]] known as Kirkmanshulme was part of the district. [[Belle Vue, Manchester|Belle Vue]] stands on that land, which is now only remembered in Kirkmanshulme Lane which borders it. The district was incorporated into the city of Manchester in 1890. Newton Heath is in the parliamentary constituency of [[Manchester Central (UK Parliament constituency)|Manchester Central]] alongside [[Manchester city centre]], [[Hulme]], [[Beswick, Greater Manchester|Beswick]], [[Clayton, Greater Manchester|Clayton]], [[Openshaw]] and [[Moss Side]]. As of 2012, the seat is held by the [[Labour Party (UK)|Labour Party]] [[Member of Parliament (UK)#United Kingdom|Member of Parliament]], [[Lucy Powell]].
