==== United Kingdom ==== The United Kingdom had lost control of its possessions in Southeast Asia and China to the Japanese advance in 1941β42. These included [[Colony of Singapore|Singapore]], [[Straits Settlements|Malaya]], [[North Borneo]], [[British Hong Kong|Hong Kong]], and others.
