== Composition == The prepreg matrix consists of a mixture of resin and hardener, in some cases an accelerator.<ref>{{Cite journal|last1=Scola|first1=Daniel A.|last2=Vontell|first2=John|last3=Felsen|first3=Marvin|date=August 1987|title=Effects of ambient aging of 5245C/graphite prepreg on composition and mechanical properties of fabricated composites|journal=Polymer Composites|volume=8|issue=4|pages=244β252|doi=10.1002/pc.750080406|issn=0272-8397}}</ref> Freezing at -20 Β°C prevents the resin from reacting with the hardener. If the [[cold chain]] is interrupted, the reaction starts and the prepreg becomes unusable. There are also high-temperature prepregs which can be stored for a certain time at room temperature. These prepregs can then be cured only in an autoclave at elevated temperature.
