===Honors===
Quick is a member of SMU's Distinguished Alumni. In 2000 he was inducted into the [[International Swimming Hall of Fame]]. Quick initially retired to Austin in 2005, but in 2007 came out of retirement to coach Auburn.  In December 2008 Quick was diagnosed with an inoperable [[brain tumor]].
