[[Thailand]]'s [[township]] [[Kut Chum District|Amphoe Kut Chum]] once issued its own local scrip called ''Bia Kut Chum'': [[Thai baht|Bia]] is [[Thai language|Thai]] for [[cowry]] shell, which was once used as small change, and still so used in metaphorical expressions.
