===Flight incidents=== On 23 August 2015, [[Thomson Airways]] Flight 476, approaching Sharm El Sheikh at the end of a flight from [[London Stansted Airport]] with 189 passengers aboard, took evasive action to avoid a missile traveling toward it.<ref>{{Cite news |last=Topham |first=Gwyn |date=2015-11-07 |title=Sharm el-Sheikh flight from Stansted dodged missile last August |url=https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/nov/06/missed-by-a-1000-feet-how-british-holidaymakers-came-close-to-being-hit-by-a-missile-in-august |access-date=2024-01-20 |work=The Guardian |issn=0261-3077}}</ref> the missile missed the airliner by about {{convert|1,000|ft|m|abbr=off|sp=us}}, and the plane landed safely.
