==Computing career== He started his computing career programming the pioneering [[EDSAC]] computer, designed and built at [[University of Cambridge Mathematical Laboratory|Cambridge University]]. He worked for [[International Business Machines|IBM]] in the United States and the UK from 1955 to 1970. From 1970 to 1973, he worked as Manager for University Systems for [[Sperry Corporation|Sperry-UNIVAC]].
