==Advancements== As of 2009 a team at MIT is working for construction of thermal diodes that convert heat to electricity at lower temperatures than before.<ref>[http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2009/thermoelectric.html MIT News - Turning heat to electricity]</ref> This can be used in construction of engines or in electricity production. The efficiency of present thermal diodes is about 18% between the temperature range of 200-300 degree Celsius.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.trnmag.com/Stories/2001/121901/Chips_turn_more_heat_to_power_121901.html |title=Chips turn more heat to power TRN 121901 |website=www.trnmag.com |access-date=14 January 2022 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20090226195953/http://www.trnmag.com/Stories/2001/121901/Chips_turn_more_heat_to_power_121901.html |archive-date=26 February 2009 |url-status=dead}}</ref>
