In East Kent, the warmest time of the year is July and August, when maximum temperatures average around 22&nbsp;°C (71.6&nbsp;°F). The nearest Met Office average data for each month as well as the current data reported on the BBC web site are from recording stations approximately {{convert|20|mi|km|sigfig=1}} away to east and west and do not well represent Whitstable weather.
