The accusative case is assigned to the direct object in a sentence in Hungarian. The accusative marker is always {{lang|hu|-t}}, often preceded by a linking vowel to facilitate pronunciation.

For the Hungarian 1st and 2nd person singular accusative forms, the pronoun can often be dropped if it is clear from the context who the speaker is referring to.
