===Shrimp tie (ebi)===

A {{nihongo|'''shrimp tie'''|海老責め|ebi-zeme}} (also known as an {{nihongo||海老|'''ebi'''}} or a {{nihongo||繰り|'''kuri'''}}) is a type of [[Kinbaku]] bondage. A chest tie, such as a [[#Box tie|box tie]], is constructed. The participant sits cross-legged, and the ankles are tied together using a [[#Single-column tie|single column tie]]. The shrimp tie originated over 300 years ago in 1742 in Japan as a [[Criminal punishment in Edo-period Japan|torture and interrogation]] technique.
