===Musical rest===
The number "0" represents the [[rest (music)|musical rest]]. The rules for length is similar to that of the note, except that it is customary to repeat "0" instead of adding dashes for rests longer than a quarter rest. The bar rest of {{music|time|3|4}} time is {{nowrap begin}}<code>| 0 0 0 |</code>{{nowrap end}} and the bar rest of {{music|time|4|4}} time is {{nowrap begin}}<code>| 0 0 0 0 |</code>.{{nowrap end}} A more general symbol for a bar rest is {{nowrap begin}}<code>| )0( |</code>.{{nowrap end}} The multi-bar rest symbol used in standard notation may also be adopted.
