He also scored against [[Villarreal CF|Villarreal]] in the game that put Barcelona one point away from lifting the [[2008–09 La Liga]] trophy. He scored 30 goals in the season, finishing second in the Pichichi Trophy goalscorers list behind Atlético de Madrid's [[Diego Forlán]]. Eto'o scored the opening goal in the [[2009 UEFA Champions League Final]] against [[Manchester United F.C.|Manchester United]]. Barcelona went on to win the final [[2009 UEFA Champions League Final#Details|2–0]], thus completing the [[Treble (association football)|Treble]].
