* DK stands for "[[National roads in Poland|droga krajowa]]" (national road)
* DW stands for "[[Voivodeship road|droga wojewódzka]]" (voivodeship/provincial road)

There are also county roads (DP, "[[Powiat road|droga powiatowa]]") and communal/municipal roads (DG, "[[Gmina road|droga gminna]]"). However the numbers of these types of routes are only for administrative purposes, therefore not displayed on signage.
