Of these, there were 323 people employed in the [[Primary sector of the economy|primary economic sector]] and about 85 businesses involved in this sector. 1,147 people were employed in the [[Secondary sector of the economy|secondary sector]] and there were 93 businesses in this sector. 2,902 people were employed in the [[Tertiary sector of the economy|tertiary sector]], with 345 businesses in this sector.<ref name=SFSO/> There were 5,081 residents of the municipality who were employed in some capacity, of which females made up 44.0% of the workforce.

The municipality is a net exporter of workers, with about 1.3 workers leaving the municipality for every one entering. In 2009 there were a total of 4,678 tax payers in the municipality. Of that total, 1,787 made over 75,000 CHF per year. There were 31 people who made between 15,000 and 20,000 per year.
