There are conflicting accounts regarding Rumkowski's final moments. Another report, submitted by a {{lang|de|[[Sonderkommando]]}} member from Hungary, {{ill|Dov Paisikovic|de}}, states that the Jews of Łódź approached the {{lang|de|Sonderkommando}} Jews in secrecy, and asked them to kill Rumkowski for the crimes he committed in the Łódź Ghetto, so they beat him to death at the gate of the Crematorium No. 2 and disposed of his corpse.<ref name="Unger2004" />
