He is rescued by his best friend, General Orry Main ([[Patrick Swayze]]), and Main's cousin, Confederate officer Charles Main ([[Lewis Smith (actor)|Lewis Smith]]). *The escape is in the television series ''History's Greatest Escapes with Morgan Freeman '' season 2 episode 7 (2024).
