In 2024, Nexon was fined {{currency|11.6 billion|KRW|passthrough=yes}} (US$8.9 million) for a violation of South Korea's Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce Act, allegedly for changing the appearance rate of certain items in ''MapleStory'' without notifying players.
