It can do pure software rendering, and it may also use hardware acceleration on [[Berkeley Software Distribution|BSD]], [[Linux]], and other platforms by taking advantage of the [[Direct Rendering Infrastructure]]. As of version 20.0, it implements version 4.6 of the OpenGL standard.
