It has a strength of around 75,000 officers. The [[Defence Security Corps]] (DSC) protects military installations and property belonging to the [[Ministry of Defence (India)|Ministry of Defence]] (MoD). In addition, many states may have their own police units or government agencies responsible for providing security for industries not protected by the CISF. These include various State Industrial Security Forces (SISF).
