In the summer of 2010, Shopko opened its first two "Shopko Hometown" stores, which were converted from Pamida locations.<ref name="greenbaypressgazette1" />

In 2015, due to bankruptcy, Shopko acquired 20 [[ALCO Stores]] locations with the plan of converting them to Hometown locations.
