===Crichton campus, Dumfries===
The university opened the [[The Crichton|Crichton campus]] in [[Dumfries]], [[Dumfries and Galloway]] during the 1980s. It was designed to meet the needs for tertiary education in an area far from major cities and is operated jointly by the University of Glasgow, the [[University of the West of Scotland]] and the [[Open University]].
