== Downloading the Encyclopedia == Hi, perhaps this question was here 1000 times but i didnt found an answer or i am to studpid. But if i want the content of the english encyclopedia on our school server because we dont ve access to the internet what do i ve to do? MYSQl and PHP and Apache2 is installed. How big is the full english version with pictures? Greets and thx max :I doubt you have the server space to download the entire wikipedia. The information is spread across several severs, and it took the Wikimedia Foundation quite some time to get the equipment together. Trying to gain internet access is the cheaper solution here. Mgm|(talk) 12:50, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC) ::The database dump is not that big in terms of disk space (currently about 45gig for the whole thing with edit histories, 11 gig for only the current revision), but you'll need a lot of bandwith to download it. Latest database dumps are available here. Oh, and of course you will also need an internet connection to download a database dump in the first place :p -- Ferkelparade π 13:44, 29 Nov 2004 (UTC)
