The [[2024 Ghanaian general election]] in December was the first with affirmative action legislation in place. In the election campaign, both the ruling [[New Patriotic Party]] and the main opposition party [[National Democratic Congress (Ghana)|NDC]] voiced their commitment to the targets, in an effort to appeal to women voters.
