In an interview with the 97.7 QLZ radio station, Mark Tremonti revealed that Alter Bridge's seventh studio album would be called, ''Pawns & Kings''.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://blabbermouth.net/news/alter-bridges-seventh-album-gets-official-title-release-date|title=Alter Bridge's Seventh Album Gets Official Title, Release Date|website=Blabbermouth.net|date=May 4, 2022|access-date=May 6, 2022}}</ref> It was released on October 14, 2022.

In an interview with Ian Danter of Planet Rocks, Tremonti spoke about the seventh album. "We are very proud of it", He said, "Our producer is absolutely in love with the record. I think if you're a fan of Alter Bridge, you will dig this record. We are very happy with it." Tremonti was then asked about if there will be heavy riffs in the new album with him responding, "There are some heavy riffs on there.
