Several alternatives to {{mono|stdio}} have been developed. Among these is the [[Input/output (C++)|C++ {{mono|iostream}}]] library, part of the [[ISO C++|ISO C++ standard]]. ISO C++ still requires the {{mono|stdio}} functionality.
