==== Middle East ==== In the Middle East, [[Ibn al-Haytham|Hasan Ibn al-Haytham]], Latinized as Alhazen ({{c.|lk=no|965|1040}}{{nbsp}}AD) derived a formula for the sum of [[fourth power]]s.
