In December 1969, the ''Doraemon'' manga appeared in six different children's monthly magazines published by [[Shogakukan]]: ''Yoiko'', ''Yōchien'', ''Shogaku Ichi-nensei'', ''Shogaku Ni-nensei'', ''Shogaku San-nensei'', and ''Shogaku Yo-nensei''. The magazines were aimed at children from nursery school to fourth grade. In 1973, two other magazines, ''Shogaku Go-nensei'' and ''Shogaku Roku-nensei'' (aimed at fifth-grade and sixth-grade students respectively), started publishing the manga.
