===Medieval Egypt=== During the [[Mali Empire|Malian]] king [[Mansa Musa]]'s [[hajj]] to [[Mecca]] in 1324, he was reportedly accompanied by a [[camel train]] that included thousands of people and nearly a hundred camels.
