An alternative design to the toggle switch is the rocker switch. Large switches of this design are commonly known in the United States as "decorator" or "Decora" style.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.kyleswitchplates.com/white-decora-rocker-switch-plates/ |title=White Decora Rocker Switch Plates |website=Kyle Switch Plates |access-date=2013-09-18 }}</ref> "Decora" is a trademark of [[Leviton]], and the term in recent years has become a [[genericized trademark]] in the United States for any rocker light switch regardless of brand. Switches of this design sit almost flush with the wall plate, and are activated by "rocking" a flat, broad lever, rather than pushing a short protruding actuator up or down.
