The province is divided into seven districts (''[[Districts of Thailand|amphoe]]s''). The districts are further subdivided into 106 subdistricts (''[[tambon]]s'') and 904 villages (''[[muban]]s'').

===Local government===
As of 10 October 2020 there are: one Nakhon Pathom Provincial Administrative Organization - PAO (''{{lang|th-Latn|ongkan borihan suan changwat}}'') and twenty-six municipal (''[[thesaban]]'') areas in the province. The capital Nakhon Pathom has city (''[[thesaban nakhon]]'') status. Further five have town (''[[thesaban mueang]]'') status and twenty subdistrict municipalities (''[[thesaban tambon]]'').
