Unusually for the time, a [[Teaser (trailer)|teaser trailer]] for ''Rambo: First Blood Part II''—then titled ''First Blood Part II: The Mission''—was released in 3,000 theaters in the summer of 1984, over a year before the scheduled release date of August 1, 1985, and several months before any footage for the film was completed.
