In late 2013, Yankovic sued his label, Volcano, and its parent company [[Sony]] for unpaid publishing royalties from several of his albums and singles, including ''Running with Scissors''. Yankovic claimed that{{emdash}}despite the album's success{{emdash}}he never earned royalties from the record.
