== Depression == Social learning theory has been explained and shown in many different examples. Depression in social learning can be discussed in a variety of ways.<ref>{{Cite web |date=2021-09-14 |title=What Does Social Learning Theory Say About Human Behavior? |url=https://psychcentral.com/health/social-learning-theory |access-date=2023-04-21 |website=Psych Central |language=en}}</ref> For example, a person with depression may withdraw from social situations and avoid interacting with others. They may feel like they don't have anything to contribute to conversations or others won't understand them. Depression can make it difficult for people to find the motivation to engage in social activities. They may also feel like it takes too much energy to interact with others, and they would rather stay home alone. Social learning theory provides a framework for understanding the role of social factors in depression and for developing interventions that promote positive behaviors and attitudes. === In health promotion === Social learning theory emphasizes the importance of observing and modeling the behaviors, attitudes and beliefs of others in promoting health behaviors. Promoting positive and healthy habits is a big part of an educator's and even a social worker's job.<ref name="Ph.D">{{Cite web |last=Ph.D |first=Tiffany Sauber Millacci |date=2021-09-03 |title=Applying Social Learning Theory in Social Work & Education |url=https://positivepsychology.com/social-learning-theory-social-work/ |access-date=2023-04-15 |website=PositivePsychology.com |language=en-US}}</ref> Teachers are expected to teach their students how to behave in class. For example, if a teacher desires students to be quiet while they are talking, they have to teach them that when the teacher is talking they should be quiet. The teachers are also expected to teach them how to role play and tell stories and also do classroom activities.<ref name="Ph.D"/> Another example is peer led health programs they can effectively promote health behaviors among adolescents and young adults by using social learning behaviors and attitudes and provide social support for positive changes. Community based interventions can use Social learning theory principles to promote healthy behaviors at the community levels.
