The United Kingdom opened one (officially unsanctioned) facility in Glasgow in September 2020. In 2023, the [[Lord Advocate]]—Scotland's chief legal officer—announced that the [[Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service]] would institute a policy of not criminally prosecuting those using approved supervised drug consumption sites.
