====The Shashu Rebellion====
In the [[Sinai Peninsula|Sinai]], Thutmose II seems to have fought against the [[Shasu]] [[Bedouin]] in a campaign mentioned by [[Ahmose Pen-Nekhbet]].<ref name="Gardiner, Alan p. 180"/> This campaign has been called a minor raid by some scholars{{Citation needed|date=February 2025}}.

There is a fragment recorded by [[Kurt Heinrich Sethe|Kurt Sethe]] that records a campaign in Upper [[Retenu]], or [[Syria]], which appears to have reached as far as a place called [[Niya (kingdom)|Niy]] where Thutmose I hunted elephants after returning from crossing the [[Euphrates]].<ref name="Breasted, James Henry p. 51">Breasted, James Henry. ''Ancient Records of Egypt, Vol. II'' p. 51. University of Chicago Press, Chicago, 1906</ref> This quite possibly indicates that the raid against the [[Shasu]] was only fought ''en route'' to [[Syria]].<ref name="Breasted, James Henry p. 51"/>
