When Triumph went into receivership in 1983, [[John Bloor]], a former plasterer who acquired his wealth from building and property development, became interested in keeping the brand alive, and bought the name and manufacturing rights from the [[Official Receiver]].<ref name="ride">{{cite web|url=http://www.rideteamtriumph.com/triumph_history.htm|title=1980s β The end and the new beginning|access-date=20 September 2008|url-status=dead|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20080918033515/http://www.rideteamtriumph.com/triumph_history.htm|archive-date=18 September 2008}}</ref> The new company, initially Bonneville Coventry Ltd, ensured that Triumph has produced motorcycles since 1902, winning it the title of the world's second longest continuous production motorcycle manufacturer, one year behind Royal Enfield.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.royalenfield.com/in/en/our-world/since-1901/|title=Royal Enfield Journey Since 1901|publisher= Royal Enfield|accessdate=25 April 2021}}</ref> A licensing agreement granted to pattern spares manufacturer, [[Les Harris (businessman)|Les Harris]], kept the Triumph Bonneville in production until Triumph initiated a new range during 1990 and 1991. Triumph now makes a range of motorcycles reviving model names of the past, including a newly designed Bonneville twin.
