The Windows Shell component provides access to the [[operating system shell]]. The component resides in <samp>shell.dll</samp> on 16-bit Windows, and <samp>shell32.dll</samp> on 32-bit Windows. The Shell Lightweight Utility Functions are in <samp>shlwapi.dll</samp>.
