===Mahmoud Taher era (2014โ2017)=== Al-Ahly made their way to the [[CAF Confederations Cup|African Confederations Cup]] after an early exit from the [[CAF Champions League|Champions League]]. Al Ahly reached the final against [[Sรฉwรฉ FC]] but lost the first leg 2โ1. In the return match, the score was 0โ0 until the sixth minute of stoppage time, when Al Ahly's [[Emad Moteab]] scored a goal with a header in the dying minutes which made coach [[Juan Carlos Garrido]] running with celebration onto the pitch.
