Plummer was married three times. He was next married to British entertainment journalist Patricia Lewis. Prior to their marriage they were involved in a major car crash outside [[Buckingham Palace]] after leaving [[The Establishment (club)|The Establishment club]] in Soho (owned by comedian-actor [[Peter Cook]]).
