=== Felder and Silverman's model === [[Richard Felder]] and Linda Silverman developed their own index for determining learning styles. In 2002, Felder removed the Inductive and Deductive portion because it did not fit the model well given the differences in inductive and deductive teaching methods. Felder and Silverman placed Active, Visual, Sensing, and Sequential on one side of the spectrum and their counterparts on the opposing side.<ref name=":02" /> Felder also noted, however, that while full understanding of the spectrum allows for optimal learning, that mismatches do exist.
