Recent open-source efforts in the Eclipse community have led to a porting of SWT (and JFace) into a widget toolkit appropriate for the web. The result has been the Eclipse [[Remote Application Platform]] (RAP), which combines the [[qooxdoo]] Ajax library with the SWT API. Like other Java [[Ajax (programming)|Ajax]] projects (such as [[Echo (framework)|Echo]]2, [[Vaadin]] and [[Google Web Toolkit]]), the usage of the SWT API allows developing applications quickly for the web in much the same way as for the desktop.
