==Description==
''Alzatea verticillata'' has opposite, obovate or elliptical leaves. Its flowers are [[actinomorphic]] and bisexual, and lack a corolla. The flowers and [[fruit]] are similar to the [[Myrtaceae]] but the ovary is superior.
