Gimhae has a [[humid subtropical climate]] ([[Köppen climate classification|Köppen]]: ''Cwa'', bordering on ''Cfa'') with very warm summers and cold winters. Due to the influence of its coastal climate, Gimhae is the mildest region in Korea. Gimhae has two stations on the [[Gyeongjeon Line]]; [[Hallimjeong station]] ({{Korean|hangul=한림정역|labels=no}}) and [[Jinyeong station]] ({{Korean|hangul=진영역|labels=no}}). The [[Busan–Gimhae Light Rail Transit]], which opened in September 2011, connects the city to Busan via [[Gimhae International Airport|the airport]]. It connects to the [[Busan Metro]] network {{rint|busan|3}} at [[Daejeo LRT Station|Daejeo]] ({{Korean|hangul=대저|labels=no}}), and {{rint|busan|2}} at [[Sasang LRT Station|Sasang]] ({{Korean|hangul=사상|labels=no}}). The closest [[KTX]] station from Gimhae is [[Gupo station]] in Busan.

Gimhae has spacious flower gardens. Busan and its neighbor cities have exported large amounts of flowers.
