'''Humppila''' is a [[municipalities of Finland|municipality]] of [[Finland]]. It is located in the [[Tavastia Proper]] [[regions of Finland|region]]. The municipality has a population of {{formatnum: {{Data Finland municipality/population count|Humppila}}}} ({{#time: j F Y|{{Data Finland municipality/population count|sourcedate}} }}),<ref name="population_count"/><!-- defined by template:Infobox Finnish municipality/population count --> which make it the smallest municipality in Tavastia Proper in terms of population. It covers an area of {{convert|{{Data Finland municipality/total area|Humppila}}|km2}} of which {{convert|{{Data Finland municipality/waters area|Humppila}}|km2|abbr=on}} is water.<ref name="total_area"/> The [[population density]] is {{convert|{{Data Finland municipality/population density|Humppila|round=2}}|PD/km2}}.

The municipality owes the essence of its development to the arrival of the [[List of railway lines in Finland#Line 9: Turku - Pieks.C3.A4m.C3.A4ki|Turku–Toijala railway]] in 1876. Today, Humppila remains a stop for trains using this line and the once closed railway station has been reopened for passengers. From 1898 until 1974, Humppila was the starting point of the narrow gauge [[Jokioinen Railway]], a {{convert|22|km|mi|adj=on}} line to the town of [[Forssa]]. Today the remaining {{convert|15|km|mi|0}} of this line make the [[Jokioinen Museum Railway]]. There are two significant traffic highways through Humppila municipality: [[Finnish national road 2|Highway 2]] (between [[Vihti]] and [[Pori]]) and [[Finnish national road 9|Highway 9]] (between [[Turku]] and [[Tampere]]).

Neighbouring municipalities are [[Forssa]], [[Jokioinen]], [[Ypäjä]], [[Loimaa]], [[Punkalaidun]], and [[Urjala]]. The municipality of Humppila is unilingually [[Finnish language|Finnish]].

Major employers in Humppila are the Humppila municipality, Kenkämaailma (shoe retail), Humppilan Osuuspankki (banking), [[Iittala|Iittala Group]] Humppila Glassworks, and Maviteknik Oy (engineering). Employment structure by trade at the end of 2004 was following: Agriculture and forestry economics 16.3%, industry 22.0%, services 58.5%, unknown 3.2%.
