I am just about to do some major editing of a Wikipedia article about a board game, e.g., [[:en:Brass (board game)]] (Wikipedia 'free link'). I screen-shot the artwork of the game's title on the computer game version, available through Steam. The header is the word "Brass" on a brass plaque. The artwork is clearly not my own work, and I am not sure whether it is the game's logo, as it is the game's title. In addition, since it is a graphic of the game, I assume that the person in control of illustrating the computer version, Magdalena Mudlaff, or the illustrator of the original board game, Peter Dennis, have a copyright over such a graphic. How would I go about working out whether I can use the graphic or getting permission? I seem to see other board games with a complete picture of the game's box cover, including the board game logo, but I am just not sure how they managed to do that. Are such illustrations in the public domain, and, if not, how do they become so? Can you advise me? One of them is "Upload file". Clicking this is how I'd start the process of uploading a file that would need, and that I'd provide, a "fair use" rationale for use within this or that article. It's reliable as its an official US Governmental source and you can find the Excel file [https://www.trade.gov/i-94-arrivals-program here] under the title of: "I-94 Monthly International Visitor Arrivals, 2000-Present (Excel File)" and it does work when you open it. I'm also wondering if your allowed to cite Microsoft Excel files here on Wikipedia.

What's important is that it is ''published'' (so a random user can in principle get hold of a copy from some sort of public resource, eg a library) and that it be ''reliably published'' (from somebody with a reputation for editorial control and fact checking). 
:I don't know if there is a citation template that will suit this, but the use of those is optional anyway. The important bits, beside the url (https://www.trade.gov//sites/default/files/2024-06/Monthly%20Arrivals%202000%20to%20Present%20%E2%80%93%20Country%20of%20Residence%20%28COR%29_1.xlsx) are the author (though there presumably isn't one here), publisher, and date.
:However, there is a problem with this source, because it is "-Present", which means that it will presumably be changing regularly. A source which will change is problematic, because a reader in the future may look at it and find it no longer supports the information which it is being used to verify. I recently created the page for the [[Global Student Forum]]. While creating the page, the cite source function stopped working, and it seemed like the only way to avoid losing my progress was to publish it unfinished and make subsequent edits to the page, which put it at risk of being swarmed by other users in its unfinished state. Sure enough, a user named Sumanuil put a banner on it alleging that the page contains promotional content. I cited sources for factual claims, tried to write in a neutral tone, and am not affiliated with the organization. I edited the text to remove what could be misconstrued as promotional, but the banner has remained. I posted a request for clarification on Sumanuil's Talk page, but Sumanuil removed this without providing any clarification. 

I have been a Wikipedian for over ten years. The Wikipedia I have come to know is a toxic, insular group that is hostile to new and less experienced users. On multiple occasions, I have seen knowledge erased on minute technicalities that could have easily been ameliorated with dialogue and collaboration. Please do not let the Global Student Forum page be another example to further reinforce what I have reluctantly perceived. You can see the timestamps on the Global Student Forum page to see the time I put into creating it and researching the sources. I want to be compliant. I just need clarification and assistance. :The requirement that Wikipedia articles be primarily based around what independent sources have to say on the subject, rather than citations to the subject's own website etc, isn't a 'minute technicality'. In my opinion, the 'promotional' banner is still justified. As for difficulties with editing, you have the option of using your sandbox, which should ensure you can publish the article only when you consider it complete. Hello, I am unfamiliar with concepts around copyright laws for images and emblems, and I want to know if Air Force ROTC Detachment emblems would be permitted for use on Wikipedia. I have been trying to add a link from [[Joël Le Scouarnec]] to the French version in the languages box. In the French wiki the article (on same topic) has the title Affaire Joël Le Scouarnec. When I tried to add the link it wouldn't let me because there was another wikidata item with the title "case of Joël Le Scouarnec". When I tried to merge the "Joël Le Scouarnec" and "case of Joël Le Scouarnec" wikidata items I got an error message with something about the Chinese wikidata item. Is there any way round this? I think that the multiple cites using {{t|efn}} have been done that way as explanations of the fact that in this case many sources (which are linked in the footnotes) make each specific point. Normally, it would be considered [[WP:Citation overkill]] to have so many references in the main text and doing it using explanatory footnotes makes the main text somewhat less cluttered. The article [[Montgomery Canal]] had three which? templates against the mention of Acts of Parliament. I have resolved two, but am left with {{tq|The Ellesmere and Chester Canal obtained an act of Parliament[which?] to enable them to become the Shropshire Union Railways and Canal Company.}} All the sources I can find agree that an Act of Parliament was obtained, and the List of Acts of Parliament shows that three acts were obtained in 1846, all for railways, but one of them included the powers to rename the company. No sources say which of the three acts included those powers, and the parliamentary archive does not have the text for any of the three acts. Can I just remove the which? tag? Trying to explain the issue in the article seems to be a bit off-topic. I could remove mention of the Act of Parliament, but as I say, all the sources mention it.
