The median income for a household in the town was $25,750, and the median income for a family was $34,667. Males had a median income of $27,750 versus $20,625 for females. About 10.9% of families and 16.9% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 10.0% of those under age 18 and 21.1% of those age 65 or over. ==Revitalization efforts== An [[optical fiber]] link between [[Farmville, Virginia|Farmville]] and Keysville was the first on the agenda in efforts by Governor [[Mark Warner]] to bring broadband [[internet access]] to rural areas of Virginia, funded by the Tobacco Indemnification Fund. This was also accomplished to aid in developing the Southside Industrial Park by bringing mid-sized businesses the technological access needed in an effort to bring more industry to Charlotte County.
